narrow edgings embroidery patterns
These embroidery patterns of edgings are on the straight and narrow. Well, mostly straight. Indeed they are hand drawn dating back to the 1850s before the ruler was invented. (joking)

Mostly Floral Corners Embroidery Patterns

corner daisy embroidery pattern
Corner embroidery patterns specifically designed for the 45 degree angle. Many were originally for hankies but a corner is a corner…..and on this site it’s not called a border  but then some designs aren’t well defined…….Good luck!

bear day-of-the-week set embroidery pattern
Cute baby bears doing household chores every single day of the week. You’ll notice that these are reversed from the hot iron transfers so you’ll need to switch them back depending on what method you use to transfer them to fabric i.e. if you direct trace with a light box or window then leave them

Calendar Kids Embroidery Patterns

girl bride
A baker’s dozen! The Workbasket published these as a series in their magazine but I somehow ended up with 13. Maybe the boy with the wreaths is the odd one and the girl angel (ha ha) is supposed to be the Christmas kid. Or one of the two Irish shamrock kids is an imposter. The

Fuzzy Kittens Embroidery Pattern Set

kitten set embroidery patterns
If you don’t care for having to follow outlines then fuzzy patterns are for you! Mostly short stitches and if they’re not perfectly straight, no big deal. The problem with kitten patterns is the wide variety to choose from. Probably more popular than puppies in the 1950s and 60s but then I’m a cat person.

Hello stitchers!

Most of the patterns are for embroidery but I do plan on expanding the quilting and crochet collection and adding knitting patterns………. my other favorite craft obsession. They are all vintage, copyright-free,  with some dating back to the 1800s. Print them out, trace them with a hot iron transfer pen or trace them directly onto fabric using a sunny window or a lightbox. A cheap and easy lightbox can be simply fashioned by putting a lamp under a glass table and stacking the pattern and fabric on the glass. I use kid’s fine point crayola markers for tracing the lines but any washable pen will do just fine.

All Patterns

All the patterns are free and from my personal collection. You may download the embroidery patterns by clicking on the image and saving to your computer. You may use them for stitching items for personal use or for items that you intend to sell. You may not assemble them in a collection as I have on this site to give away or sell digitally (CD, website, etc.) Those of you that intend to digitize the images for machine embroidery either for personal use or commercially are free to do so as the work in digitizing is your own!
