If you look at the illustration the needle comes through the bottom of the fabric to the top and from there you can where the needle penetrates the fabric and exits on top of the thread. This forms the stitch. You might want to try the regular blanket stitch to get the hang of it.

the illistrations are nice but I need to know where to start the begining of the stich, I do not embroider.
