How to Crochet

Crocheting is one of the oldest needlework arts. It’s name is derived from the French word “croche” which translates to a hook. Even a novice can crochet intricate laces and designs for household items and clothing. Crochet is easily mastered with just a crochet hook and yarn or thread. All crochet designs are variations of a few basic crochet stitches.

Begin with the chain stitch

Step 2 – slip stitch and/or single crochet

Next – learn double and treble crochet

Increase and/or decrease stitches
