I use my old vintage needles and have no idea what size they are because they are packaged in assortments. This size range should cover various fabrics and threads using the finest needle that slips through fabric without bending the needle.

I also use embroidery needles for most hand sewing because they are sharps and the larger eyes are easier to thread.
